Some Basic Tips

One of the first things to do once you've chosen a location to investigate, is to try and go there during the day to familiarize yourself with the territory. This will give you a chance to seek out any dangers before hand.

Look for no trespassing signs and make sure if you want to go on private property, that you get permission first.

Never go alone on an investigation. Always make sure you have at least one other person with you. Better to be safe than sorry!

Never smoke while conducting an investigation. Be aware of the weather conditions, such as rain, snow, fog, etc.. Also, hold your breath on cold days and nights...All of these situations can hinder your investigation photos.

Make sure to bring a flashlight and always have extra batteries on hand for all of your equipment.

Always be respectful and professional on an investigation.

These are just dust orbs. A little test to show that they come in all sizes and visabilities. No the house isn't that dusty!

This is just cigarette smoke........Another little test.....

I stay on the left side of a finished basement. I was on my way up stairs for dinner at my mothers house. This is a two-story duplex, with our parents living on the 2nd floor, W.M.G.C. living on the first floor and me and my girlfriend on the bottom floor. Anyway, I heard someone on the other side of the basement close the dryer door....I peeked around the corner as I was headed up the stairs to see who it was. At the far end of the basement I saw my nephew Matt standing there. He looked at me and I called him a slacker and proceeded to go up the stairs. When I got up to my mothers house, "everyone" was there including Matt.... He was wearing the same exact shirt, although the "Matt" I thought I saw downstairs had one side of his hair sticking up as if he hadn't combed it. I hadn't seen him at any point that day prior to this, so I had no clue about the shirt. I gave him crap about being down there and he said he wasn't. He said he left his room and came right upstairs, apparently a few minutes before we did. Everyone agreed that he was upstairs with them. Could this have been a possible "Doppelganger"? There are two ways to get to that point in the cellar, so I went back down the way I came and Stan and Chriss from W.M.G.C. went the other way expecting to catch an intruder. We checked the whole basement and then the first floor. All doors were still locked and no one was to be found.

Last night, I was going to lay down for a while in bed, around 9pm or so. I got comfortable laying on my right side and shortly after that I felt a quick touch on my back. I moved to see if my hampster had gotten out of his cage and was on the bed. That wasn't the case. The hampster was in his running wheel. Later on, between 11 and 12:30, I was talking on my cell phone with a friend. After a short while the phone went dead on me and I heard through the phone what sounded like a grunt. I called my friend back and we were talking again.......and this time my phone did the same thing....I heard the grunting again, but when it stopped my friend was still there talking away. He never heard a thing. The phone has never done this before and with the touch on my back earlier in the night....It was kinda freaky.

My dad came in tonight and he did a little recording with the digi recorder. He asked all of the questions except one..... I asked if anyone was in here and you can check out the response I got below! Let me know what you think it says.......

You may need headphones to hear this!!!

This one says "I'm Right Here!"

Since I started this web site, I thought I should be the first to put in a story. Alothough my story is not first hand, I spent many nights in this house as a little girl. I have to say it was a pretty scary old place...... This is simply a small history of my families experiences going back at least 30 years. These are the stories that intrigued me to the point that I'm at now. Most of these experiences came from a house my "Gram J" lived in on Onota St., here in Pittsfield, MA. It's now conjoined with a house on the left that used to be a separate residence. This is now the home of "Side by Side" assisted living facility. The first story I remember was told to me along time ago by my Aunt. She said my gram let her and her older brother Billy stay up and watch a late show. Before they headed up for bed, they double checked the front and back doors to make sure they were locked. They then proceeded upsatirs. Shortly after, I believe either one or both heard a noise downstairs. They go downstairs to find out what the noise was and they find muddy footprints leading from the front door to the back door and both doors are still locked. Another instance from this house was lying in bed and hearing someone walking in the attic. As soon as you walk into the hall, the footsteps would stop. My mother told me that my uncle and aunt used to have experiences where, a woman (not my gram) was seen standing at the foot of their beds and that sometimes she would shake the bed. One other story I have to share was told to me by my dad, the most honest man I know. He and my uncle helped move my "Gram J" out of that house on Onota St. back in the late 70's to early 80's. Her new place was across the way from ours (facing each other) in an apartment complex. My dad was alone in the house hanging some curtain rods for her. He told me that all of sudden the hairs on his arms stood on end and he got this weird feeling. Then he got the most terrible smell of defacation. He said the windows and doors were all closed and that this smell came from nowhere. My mom seems to think that the reason behind these strange happenings might be associated with a set of lead crystal candlesticks and a cane that my gram had. Both of these things were in the attic of the house when they moved in, during the early 70's. My Gram DID take these things with her when she moved. I can remember them always sitting on her dining room table. My mom and dad have other stories but refuse to talk about them. My mom says that whenever these stories get talked about, something bad happens. She wrote all the stories down in a book...........Today, it's somewhere in the attic of the house we all share. Some day, I'll get to read it...until then, I'll just wonder!

My story goes back to 1996, when I was about 11 years old. I had my friend Nate sleeping over that night. Anyway, Nate and I were being typical boys, whipping some stuffed animals around the room at each other. At some point, I whipped one of them out the bedroom door, which was about halfway opened. We stopped for a few minutes, I think to catch out breath from laughing and the stuffed animal just gets whipped back in the room. I go out into the hall to see who threw it and noone was out there. My sister was a baby and sleeping in her room, my mom was downstairs watching tv in the living room and my dad was in the kitchen doing dishes. It was pretty freaky.

One sunny day, back in the late 80's, my cousin Dave and I were walking up the YMCA Rd. in Becket, MA, where I grew up. I was about 16 or 17 years old. We decided to stop for a few and have a cigarette. We were leaning on a stone wall(now overgrown) that bordered the cemetery. The First Congregational Church was at the top of the hill and the cemetery is behind it, going down the hill. When looking in from the stone wall where we were, all the stones are basically sideways from our view. As you go up the road, you can see at more of an angle. We were looking into the cemetery and out of the blue, I said to my cousin, imagine if that stone tipped over. Not more than two seconds after saying it, the stone fell. This stone was actually a white marble type cross, very distinct, about three feet tall and actually seemed to be the only cross - shaped stone that was in the cemetery (I think thats why it caught my attention). Needless to say, we took off running.

The Cross

This picture was submitted to us from a friend of the family. Her and her friends like to visit different cemeteries in the area and beyond and snap photos. This day was no exception. When she picked up her pictures and started thumbing through them in the parking lot, she came across this picture. There were no other pictures in her pile of anything like this. WMGC actually visited the cemetery this year and found the exact location where the picture was taken. This figure is not a statue in this cemetery....Anywhere!
