Investigations
Prior to the investigation, we were told of some unusual things going on in the home of Darlene Scelsi of Pittsfield, MA. She claimed that while in the lower levels of her house, you could hear the bathroom drawers sliding open and closed. You could also here someone walking across the floor when you were in the basement. Not heavy enough to make the wood squeak, just enough to hear the footsteps. One night, while standing in the basement talking with her brother, Mike, she watched as he gets a strange look on his face and turns as if someone poked his back to get his attention. That’s exactly what happened, although no one else was there with them! She’s been woken up at night because the covers become tightly pulled across her as if someone had just sat next to her. A random clicking noise in the bedroom would also be the culprit of waking her up at night. One last claim was as she was walking through the living room, on her way upstairs, she had gotten a sudden smell of defecation. These are the claims that she presented our group with. Later in the night, we also had the opportunity to speak with the previous owner, Darlene’s best friend. She verified these claims and also told us of an “imaginary” little boy named Joey that her small daughter used to talk to when they lived there. We were also told that a person hung himself out in the back yard from one of the trees. Check out the pictures(below) that Darlene captured one night while testing out her new camera. No one was out there at the time in the first picture, not even in her neighbors yard. Basically there was no one smoking....No fog....No breath....Picture two, she was taking a picture of her ferret under the table....We were also told that a man died of an overdose just inside the living room.

We went into the first investigation with several pieces of equipment in hopes to help find some answers to give the homeowner. We had set up video cameras between the two upstairs bedrooms and the living room throughout the night. We had three digital recorders and one analog recorder. Three digital cameras, a digital thermometer, a K2 meter and 2 cell sensors.
We arrived at the house around 9pm on the night of October 19, 2007. We talked for a bit and then Darlene showed us around the house while giving us another description of things that she has experienced and where. We noticed that she was doing some remodeling of the two upstairs bedrooms, but she said that her best friend, who owned the house prior also used to experince things, so we ruled that out as a cause. At this point Stan, Tim and Ashley worked on getting the equipment set up while I talked privately with Darlene and was able to get the small details and paperwork in order.
After a while Darlene’s brother and her best friend came over to bring Darlene’s dog home. Her brother Mike decided to stay out on the porch with the dog, while the rest of us went back to the spare bedroom for one more try at finding the source of Darlene’s claims. This was where we found out about “Joey”! Stan proceeds at this point to ask “Joey” to communicate with us. He asks him to open the drawer in the bathroom………..and “Joey” responds. We all hear the drawer slide open and close on its own. Stan also decides to check out the attic (Just an opening in the ceiling with no ladder and only insulation up there). He took some pictures and we ran audio and video while he was doing this. We’re about done with the investigation for the night and Stan and Darlene were talking and both Darlene and I heard a breath! See the video below created by W.M.G.C.’s own Tim Riley
About 10:30pm we went “Lights Out”. We decided to include Darlene in the investigation because these things seem to happen when she’s around, not to mention she is a friend of ours and is intrigued by it as much as we are. Ashley, Darlene and myself went to the basement to start off. We sat at the table down there with a digital camera and recorder. We proceeded to ask questions and take pictures. Stan and Tim went straight to the spare bedroom. Stan had immediately felt a “heaviness” in there when Darlene was showing us the house. We eventually switched it up and each group moved to another location. We did this a few times until everyone had a chance to investigate the “Hot Spots” in the house. Stan and Tim told us that they did experience the sound of the bathroom drawer opening and closing, the random clicking noise “out of nowhere” and the meters responding to questions. Ashley also had an experience, with Stan to back it up. She ran upstairs to use the bathroom, which is at the very top of the stairs. Stan waited at the foot of the stairs for her. She left the bathroom and about half way down the stairs, the door slammed closed on its own.
We end the investigation and tell Darlene that we’ll review the evidence and get back to her as soon as possible. She was a little apprehensive about staying alone, but we assured her that whatever was going on was not out to harm her. We keep in touch with her throughout the process and things seem to be quiet

This one was captured when Darlene, Ashley and myself were in the master bedroom. I ask, "Are you the one that sits on the edge of Darlene's bed?", and a few seconds later you hear a faint, deep voice say, "Are you drunk?"

These two were caught in the basement when Tim and Stan went down alone after the switch. In evp #1 you hear a deep voice say "Someone Killed" and in evp #2 You hear that same type of voice say "They Killed Me"! These two recordings were approximately 20 seconds apart.

This one is "Joey" responding to Stan's question. He asks if he can open the drawer in the bathroom, which is just feet from the room we were sitting in. If you listen close, again towars the end, you can hear the drawer slide open and closed!

This one is a voice that you can actually hear while Ashley is telling Darlene and I something in the living room. We are unsure of what it is saying, but it's like a whole sentence!

We decided to come back for a second investigation. I did research the claims of the two deaths in the house and was unable to verify the hanging. I did however come up with an obituary from the man that overdosed in the house. His name was Peter and I also read in the obituary that he was engaged to a person who I worked with for about 2 years. I do vaguely remember her mentioning the name Peter and that he died of an overdose. We wanted to try and rule out the light anomalies, which were caught on video, and we did discover that they were definitely dust particles. We also wanted to make some sort of contact with Peter or Joey.
During this investigation, we decided to stay together as a group. Darlene and Mike stayed in the basement. For the first hour, Matt stayed at base and watched the computer and digital audio screen. Stan, Tim, Ashley and myself went to the spare bedroom. We set up a video camera shooting in the bathroom at the drawer and a video camera in the spare room that we were in. We had an analog recorder in the master bedroom and two digital recorders in the spare room with us. We were covering every angle with audio in hopes to capture something. The guys also set up a small step stool with 5 small balls marked with tape and a very small and easy to use electronic Elmo toy guitar. We stayed in the room about an hour asking questions and using the meters. We did seem to get a few responses with the lighted meters. I, for some reason, felt unusually angry and finally decided to leave the room…The team came down for a small break as well.
After everyone was all set, we returned to the spare room with Matt this time. We all got situated and again began to ask questions with the K2 and cell sensor in hopes to get some responses. Stan held the K2 and the questions started flying. We were actually having some good responses with this meter. We left the cell sensor on a weight bench that sits in the center of the room. It would periodically go off during the session. At one point Stan goes to say did something just pass by that light? (A night light in the wall, right next to Tim) as Tim says, “You’re not gonna believe this, that’s why I just turned around, something touched me, almost like pulling at my boxers”! This was only about 6 minutes into the second hour. About 8 minutes later, Tim asks (to Peter) “If you’ve had an accident make the lights go off and a second or two go by and both meters “fully light” Pretty cool, I must say.
About 24 minutes into the investigation I said something about the cell sensor light staying lit. Tim reaches over to move the probe and it gets yanked out of his hand. We all start talking about it and about a minute after that Stan says, “Did you see that move under the bench?” Tim says what? Ashley feels under the bench to see what’s there and it’s one of the balls. No one was close to the step stool when this happened. Matt was sitting in the room with a clear view of everyone and the stool. He verified that no one was close to the stool and that no one touched it at all. He watched the ball roll under the bench. We were all feeling pretty satisfied at this point and decided to retreat to the basement with Dar and Mike to shoot some pool and hang out for a while. Darlene says things just happen when they are commencing to their usual weekend activities…Needless to say, we didn’t have any more experiences that night. Tim offered to cleanse the house with a smudge stick made of sage. She said she didn’t feel threatened or scared and refused it. Since that night, Darlene has said things have been quiet there. If we here of any new occurrences, we’ll be sure to keep you posted!
Our investigator Tim believes that since that last night, something may have actually followed him home. He claims he was touched back at base and has had some strange occurrences at his own house back in Easthampton!
The Investigation - Night 2

This one was in the spare bedroom, the second time we all went back in. Tim asks, "Can you at least tell us more about the accident?". We believe it to be saying "Crystal" as in Crystal Meth???

This one was taken while the recorder was left alone in the upstairs bathroom, while we were all in the basement. There were NO small children in the house or outside. We are unsure what they are saying, but we think it might be Joey!

This one was recorded with the analog. It was left alone in the master bedroom with the door closed. No one in the house made any sound similar to this, nor was anyone upstairs at this particluar time.

Stan and I went on our first excursion together, back in 1994. We went to a cemetery on top of October Mountain (we went in on the Washington side of the mountain...I'm not sure if it's actually located on the Lenox side). I grew up knowing it as "The Silent Cemetery". The story was told to me by my "Gramma J". She said that when you walked into the cemetery you wouldn't be able to hear the outside noises, such as birds or even the wind....Some people say that you can hear humming noises and that ghostly figures of children have been seen. A ghost girl in a white dress has also been seen walking near the site of the William C. Whitney Estate which is now part of October Mountain State Forest. I know from research that there is at least 5 children under the age of 15 buried there.....Anyway, we went there with a couple friends, who in turn brought a couple of their friends...Needless to say, one person turned out to be not so respectful. It was cold and raining and we definitley could hear the rain and feel it. We decided to leave after a fairly short visit. We all get in the truck and..........NOTHING.......It's completely dead! We were fortunate enough to catch a ride with a few guys driving through. The next day we go back to try and figure out what was wrong with it..........NOTHING.......It starts right up! Freaky!
Last year during May, we decided to venture back up to the "Silent Cemetery" during the day, just to try and find the location again......This time we took our small crew. Below are a few pictures to give you an idea how old this cemetery is. Our next trip up there was at night......Unfortunately, we didn't get any photos with evidence, but we did capture two E.V.P.'s that are below.
